A Gambian American promoter was briefly questioned by police and later bailed amid alleged unpaid performance fees he allegedly owed to Gambian artists, who had taken part in the just concluded Jah Cure show at the Independence Stadium on December 30th, this medium can reveal. This followed, a complaint allegedly filed against AJ Correa of AJ Promotions by one Soffilie, also a promoter, who had a stake on the Jah Cure show. Gambian artists, who were booked to perform at the show could not find Mr. Correa after the show. It has been alleged that some of the Gambian artists AJ had booked for talents performance are yet to be paid.

The matter was referred to the police. Mr. Correa was allegedly questioned and released on bail.

While things were unfolding, Jah Cure, the Jamaican world acclaimed reggae star and his crew were hosted at a luxurious five-star hotel. For some reasons, the hotel wouldn’t allow Mr. Cure to leave town because he allegedly had an unpaid hotel bill.

A fuming Jah Cure and his entourage were said to have paid Mr. Correa a visit at the police station in Kanifing, where an altercation reportedly took place. Mr. Cure was having a go at Mr. Corea. He reportedly cursed him out publicly. Police had to intervene to restraint Jah Cure and his delegation.

AJ Correa was contacted for comment via his Facebook page, but he never responded to our journalistic query.  He was also contacted via his whatsapp number, but he was indisposed for comment at the time of going to press.
