His name is Baba Saho. He is a native of Foni Bondali. He was recently accused of torture by Batch Samba Jallow, a former educationist.

Saho was dismissed from the NIA by dictator Jammeh. He later resettled in the United Kingdom, where he stayed until the change of government in 2016.

He was hired into the Foreign Service by former Foreign Minister Ousainou Darboe. Saho now works at The Gambian Embassy in Guinea Bissau.

President Adama Barrow told the state broadcaster GRTS in a recent interview that former Jammeh officials currently serving in his regime and were linked to torture, will be availed with due process until the TRC finishes its investigations. This means that Baba Saho will continue to earn taxpayers money, until the TRC wraps up its investigations.

The TRC has two years operational mandate—which is subject to an extension.

For now, Baba Saho’s torture victims will have to wait according to the rookie President. Barrow said the fate of those linked to torture and other heinous crimes will be determined by the outcome of the commission report.

Saho was alleged to have been one of the brutal NIA agents in the early years of Jammeh’s rule. He later had a fallout with Jammeh.

Baba Saho is on Facebook. He goes with the Facebook name Alhagie Baba Saho.
